At High Point Awards & Engraving, we do a large variety of different forms of engraving, which includes personal, commercial and industrial. Based in Ontario, we create engraved gifts sure to impress. We are able to produce anything from scratch out of the best Canadian woods; from custom cutting boards, lazy susans and other wooden items such as cheese/bread boards to welcome/stall signs. We also do engraving on wine, water or shot glasses and have on many occasions engraved items such as wine, maple syrup or whiskey bottles as well as hunting knives, axes or baseball bats which were engraved for gifts or to help prevent/identify in the case of theft.
We will work with you to create what it is you require which may include a variety of items such as plastic stall signs, electrical or plumbing panels and name badges which can be made from either metal or plastic. Name badges can be used for identification at places of business or special events such as at wedding showers, buck and does, as well as anniversary or family reunion parties.
We are also able to make nameplates which can include wall holders and supports for office or cubicle identification as well as small corridor signs for all forms of buildings that can be done in many different types of plastic or full-colour metal application. We have been asked to make custom pieces for other forms of application such as mylar or plastic face plates for computer, stereo or HD equipment. Many of our materials are suited for indoor or outdoor identification and are available in a large variety of colours to choose from.
When required we can mark uncoated stainless steel and have done dog tags, halter tags, organizational labeling plates and small signs or water bottles brought to us by customers.

Q. How much is it for engraving and do I pay by the letter?
A. No, you don’t pay by the letter, you pay for the time it takes to complete the job. In order to provide you with a quote we need as much information as possible, and sometimes a phone call rather than an email helps with detailed orders. For example, we need to know what item you require engraved; or are we making it from scratch? What material is it made out of? What amount of wording or preferred fonts do you need? If you have artwork, is the artwork in line art format? Does it need to be shipped? The list goes on.
Q. Why is stainless engraving so expensive?
A. To be able to engrave on stainless steel we have to spray a product on the metal first which is very expensive and adds to the cost of the engraving. But on the bright side, the marked item will not fade or flake over time, reflecting the quality of the item.
Q. Can you make anything out of wood?
A. We can make almost anything custom out of wood including small signs, decorative barrel tops, cutting boards, etc.; but we don’t make furniture or large sandblasted signs.
Q. Can you engrave on jewellery?
A. No, this is not a service we provide as you need a special style engraver to do jewellery but we can and have leather wristbands done.
Q. Can I bring my own glasses or do I have to buy yours?
A. You can certainly bring your own, but certain styles will not fit in the machine, so they will need to be looked at first to know if they are engravable. We also highly recommend that you purchase 1-2 spares, as items that are not manufactured with engraving in mind can break or not engrave evenly.
Q. What format should I send my art files?
A. We use Corel Draw so we prefer CDR or PDF files but there are others that we can open.
Q. Can you do logo redraw?
A. We sure can. If you have a logo that over time the proper Line Art a.k.a. Vector format has gone missing but you have the logo on stationary or as a jpeg, we can redraw the logo for you. A quote is given once we see what is required and you are provided with a PDF and Corel format for your files.
Q. Do I have to have my Logo redrawn?
A. It depends on what you are wanting done with your logo. If you are wanting name badges or a plaque made and are having it done in full colour then no, we would use sublimation which allows us to use jpegs, gifs etc. for this process, but please know that it will not be as clean or bright looking as when you have proper line art.
Q. If I send you a logo will you use it for someone else?
A. No, we never use personal logos for someone else’s order, but if you are just using clipart taken from a web search or using one of our stock designs, then I can’t guarantee someone else hasn’t chosen the same one for their order.

Wooden stall/kennel signs come in 4 standard shapes: rectangle, oval, curved top rectangle and dog bone (rectangle and oval shown in picture; custom shapes available on request, ask for a quote).
- Available in pine or cherry wood with either a clear coat natural look or with a stain

Decorative Barrel Tops
Our tops are 16” in diameter and come with either a 2” or 3” thick ring.
- Barrel tops are great for hanging as decoration, being used as a table tray or can come as a lazy susan
- Stains available: early American, dark walnut, mahogany, blonde, cherry red, antique red, green tea, hunter green, mustard, island blue, white, classic black

Cutting Boards
Our cutting boards are made out of Canadian maple and are grooved with a drip line on both sides so you never have to mark up your lovely engraving.

Wooden Boxes

Converted Barrels
When it comes to full size refurbished barrels, we are limited to what we are able to purchase at the time for sizes. They are sanded and refinished with whatever stain you require. Other options available can turn the barrel into a mini bar with shelf and door as shown in the image. Want to set up multiple barrels and create a long bar? Metal Engraving Information
Stainless Steel Engraving requires a special spray to be applied to the item before engraving. If the metal is coated then the engraving will not take. We must see the item be engraved before we can confirm if it is possible (if it is not something that we normally provide). Engraving will show up black on the finished product.
